Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, every TAMU piece is made to order by skilled artisans in Indonesia. Nothing sits in a warehouse. When you place an order, production begins specifically for you, which is why no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

  • Most pieces take 4–6 weeks to produce from the date your order is confirmed. For complex or fully custom pieces this may be longer — we'll confirm your timeline clearly before production begins.

  • Absolutely. Custom sizing, finishes, materials, and completely original designs are all possible. To begin a custom enquiry, email us at info@tamuhome.com with details of what you have in mind. We'll come back to you with a quote and timeline within 48 hours.

  • We'll confirm full payment terms with you at the time of your order. For custom and high-value pieces, a deposit structure is typically arranged. Please get in touch to discuss your specific order.

  • Because every piece is made specifically for you, changes or cancellations can only be accommodated within 48 hours of your order being placed. After production has begun we are unable to make changes. Please review your order carefully before confirming.

  • We ship worldwide from our workshop in Bali, Indonesia. We work with a trusted international freight partner to handle safe delivery of every piece, regardless of destination.

  • Shipping times vary by destination. Europe typically takes 2–4 weeks from dispatch. We'll provide a full shipping estimate when your order is confirmed, and tracking details once your piece leaves Bali.

  • Every piece is carefully packed for international freight — wrapped, crated, and documented to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. We take great care here because we know what these pieces mean to you.

  • Because TAMU is based in Indonesia, all pieces are shipped internationally as imports. This means import duties and local VAT may be applicable when your piece arrives in your country — these are set by your local customs authority and are the responsibility of the buyer. Your freight forwarder or delivery agent will contact you to arrange payment if applicable. We recommend checking your country's import duty rates for furniture before ordering — most European countries charge between 0–5% duty plus local VAT on the declared value.

  • No. As an Indonesian business selling internationally, we do not add European or UK VAT to our prices. The price you see is the price you pay us. Any local import taxes are separate and handled by your country's customs on arrival.

  • We declare the full and accurate purchase value of your piece on all shipping documentation. This is both a legal requirement and standard practice for international freight.

  • Because every TAMU piece is made to order specifically for you, we are unable to accept returns. We encourage you to reach out before ordering if you have any questions about size, material, or finish — we'd rather spend time getting it right than have you disappointed.

  • In the rare event that your piece arrives damaged in transit, please photograph the damage and packaging immediately and contact us at info@tamuhome.com within 48 hours of delivery. We'll work with you and our freight partner to resolve it as quickly as possible.

  • Yes — and that's exactly the point. Natural materials like wood, copper, stone, and onyx each have their own grain, colour, and character. Variations in tone, texture, and patterning are not imperfections — they are what make each piece uniquely yours. No two TAMU pieces will ever be identical.

  • Care instructions vary by material. Each piece ships with a care guide specific to its materials and finish. General guidance: avoid prolonged direct sunlight for wood pieces, use gentle non-abrasive cleaners on copper and stone, and allow natural patinas to develop over time — they tell the story of your piece. For specific advice, email us at info@tamuhome.com.

  • Yes — copper naturally develops a patina over time, shifting from bright warm tones to deeper, richer hues. Many of our customers consider this one of the most beautiful qualities of copper. If you prefer to maintain the original finish, regular polishing with a appropriate copper cleaner will keep the surface bright.
